Hope you enjoyed the fun day. I wish we had had more time!

On Monday, there will not be a reading test (contrary to what is stated on my weekly schedule). The reading test on main ideas and supporting details will be later in the week.

For Monday, read the handout on smoking. If you weren't in class, you can find it here:

Prepare an outline of the reading as well as a summary. I explained this in class today. I will collect this work on Monday.

Also, in the listening book, read pp.  34-37  and study the vocabulary. This will prepare you for the first half of the lecture, which we will listen to on Monday.

And also...you are supposed to have the book Holes by now. You should read chapters 1-7 for Tuesday. I gave you the vocabulary words that you are looking for as you read. I also placed the vocabulary slides on the blog. I do this for you because I want you to learn new words and I want to make it easy and fun, if possible.

Finally, there were two listening pieces on the blog that you were supposed to listen to and respond to yesterday (listening #3 and #4) in addition to the voicethread speaking work last week. Some of you have completed the work in a timely manner (roughly half of you). However, there are many students who have not. I will have a special surprise next week for those students who are not keeping up with the work.
